前回の研究では、非認知能力としてのやり抜く力や、自ら学ぶ力としての努力、勤勉性が、初年次教育科目の成績に正の影響を及ぼしていることを確認した。本研究は、初年次教育科目を履修する新入生の学習管理システム上のログ(履歴)、具体的には科目のなかで提出が義務づけられた5回のレポート課題(3回の遠隔授業の課題と2回のレポート試験(前期・後期))が提出締切日時の何時間前に提出完了しているのか(以下、レポート提出状況)と、非認知能力としてのやり抜く力と自ら学ぶ力、および当該科目の成績と関連があるのかどうか検討することを目的とする。全項目との間の相関係数を算出したところ、レポート提出状況はやり抜く力や自ら学ぶ力や当該科目の成績と有意な正の相関があることが明らかとなった。以上のことから、学習管理システム上のログが、質問紙調査で明らかにできる非認知能力の代替指標になり得る可能性があることが示唆された。 |

In a previous study, we confirmed that perseverance, diligence, and the ability to learn as non-cognitive skills had a positive impact on the performance of first-year experience courses. This study aimed to examine whether logs from new students taking first-year experience courses on the learning management system (LMS)—specifically, whether the number of hours before the submission deadline for the five report assignments required in the courses, namely, three distance-learning assignments and two final semester report exams [first and second semester]—are related to their grades in these courses and non-cognitive skills. We calculated the correlation coefficients for all items and found that the short length of time until report submission had a significant positive correlation with perseverance, self-directed learning, and grades in the relevant subjects. These results suggest that logs on the LMS may serve as an alternative indicator of non-cognitive abilities measurable through a questionnaire survey. |
