Early diagnosis and interventional therapies based upon the established disease concepts enable possibilities for their prophylaxis and improvement in treatment. The up-to-date disease concepts, etiology, diagnosis, and interventional therapies for “frailty” and “sarcopenia” are summarized here along with the future perspectives for geriatric medicine.
