We investigated the basic statistics competency of students who participated in the new curriculum, namely, the students who matriculated at our school in 2015. This particular study was specific for the students of Kobe Tokiwa University Faculty of Health Sciences. We discovered that the ability to understand basic mathematical concepts was very low for the matriculation cohorts of 2015 and 2016, and in both departments.
