 note = {2011年度より公立小学校で、「外国語活動」として英語教育が必修科目となった。本稿では、現在「外国語 活動」が何を目指し、どのように公立小学校で教えられているかを検証し、(8 諸国やアジア諸国、特に韓国 の小学校英語教育との比較から日本の英語教育の課題を論じる。小学校での英語教育をより充実したものにす るための示唆として、現職教員が英語を教えるための研修プログラムを整備することが急務であり、さらに、 小中高大と連携したカリキュラムの枠組みの中での小学校英語の到達目標を定めた上で、英語を教えることが できる小学校教員の養成課程を整える必要性を指摘する。, English education was introduced in public elementary schools as a required subject in April 2011 in the subject name of “Foreign Language Activities.” This paper observes what “Foreign Language Activities” aims at and how it is taught. Then, it argues the problems that teaching of English at public elementary schools confronts. Finally, the paper suggests that it has to be urgent to arrange the training programs for elementary teachers in active service and that it has to be essential to arrange the courses at the training institutions with the propose of setting goals for teaching of English at elementary schools in the integrated curriculum throughout the entire school  education., 1, KJ00009651139, 総説, Review},
