 note = {Islam and democracy are not always contradictory. Originally, Islam emphasized Shura, a type of consultation before making decisions. In this paper, we consider different types of Islam and democracy, as well as the problems of Western democracy. Finally, we point out the possibility of Islamic democracy. It will be necessary to share the values of human rights and democracy and make a democracy that is adapted to the regions and the ages., イスラームと、人権や平等、話し合いを基調とする民主主義は、両立不可能ではない。そもそもイスラームは、合議としてのシューラーを重視しており、西欧の民主主義とも通底する側面がある。本稿ではイスラームと民主主義の類型を考察し、西欧型民主主義の問題点を指摘し、最後にイスラーム的民主主義の可能性を展望していく。これからは西欧もイスラームも自らの民主主義を絶対視するのではなく、人権や民主などの普遍性をある程度共有しながら、各地域・時代に合った民主主義を構築する必要があろう。},
