日本社会の国際化の進展によって、診療放射線技師の学術活動や放射線診療業務も日本語だけでは完結しなくなった。学術活動では既に英語が必須である。診療業務でも非日本語話者に対して質の高い安全な医療の提供が求められている。そのためには外国語によるコミュニケーションスキルが必要である。診療の場面で出会う非日本語話者の母語は様々だが、国際語として英語を話せる方は少なくない。診療業務で用いる外国語も英語が第一選択になるだろう。しかし診療放射線技師の業務に特化した専門英語教材はほとんど市販されていない。そこで、放射線診療の専門英語教育を行うにあたり独自に教材を作成した。作成にあたってはジャンル分析を行い、そこで得られた放射線診療でのコミュニケーション・パターンを強調する構成を採った。コミュニケーションを俯瞰的に捉える視点を提供することで、学生が自律的にパターン分析できるようになることを目標とした。 |

As the internationalization of Japanese society has progressed, the clinical work and academic activities of radiological technologists (RT) can no longer be carried out in Japanese alone, and English has already become essential for academic activities. Simultaneously, we have to provide high-quality and safe medical care to non-Japanese speakers as well. In order to do so, communication skills in foreign languages are necessary. However, there are no English teaching materials on the market that specifically cater to the needs of RT. Therefore, we have developed materials for teaching English for Specific Purpose (ESP) in radiological technology training courses. We have referred to the concept of genre analysis in developing our materials. Our materials focus on the unique structure of clinical situations. The goal was to help students acquire an attitude of observing and understanding the structure of the communication situation, allowing them to perform genre analysis autonomously. |
