本研究では、東日本大震災における福祉避難所の入所者の口腔清掃が一般の避難所の避難者の清掃よりも行われていないであろう状況が確認され、災害関連死の上位を占める肺炎を防ぐ効果的な口腔ケアが省かれた原因を究明するために、被災県の介護老人保健施設の震災直後の状況について質問紙調査を実施した。その結果、東日本大震災において福祉避難所になった介護施設では、口腔ケアの重要性を認知している施設は多いが、少ない介護力でありながら定員を超過して被災者を受け入れた一方、介護ボランティアの受け入れは少なく、相対的介護力の低下により口腔ケアの実施が困難であったことが明らかとなった。このことから福祉避難所に対するより早期からの継続した専門的支援が、災害時肺炎の予防に必要であると考える。 |

We evaluate the conditions prevalent in Long-Term Care Health Facilities, especially in relation to oral health care, and the condition of refugees in public refuges and evacuation centers for vulnerable people immediately after an earthquake that has occurred in Japan on March 11, 2011. Most evacuation centers for vulnerable people understand the importance of oral health care but it is difficult to perform oral health care because of insufficient care workers and lack of water. We propose that continued professional support starting immediately after the earthquake for evacuation centers for vulnerable people is important in order to prevent disaster-related pneumonia after earthquakes. |
